The Garden Studio is a small, friendly creative space in High Barnet where I run relaxing pottery classes and workshops for adults and children. Whether you’re a beginner or just looking to unwind, this peaceful setting offers a chance to explore clay, get inspired, and connect with others through hands-on creativity.

Our introductory session is a wonderfully social and inspiring way to get a feel for working with clay.

In the first session, you will learn how to prepare the clay as well as a variety of techniques and methods to create the effects you desire. You can make something of your own devising or be guided to realise a project.

The second session will be for glazing; you will be offered a range of different types of glaze to paint your finished piece which will then be fired and ready to collect the following week.

This short course will teach you the basics for getting started in ceramics. It is ideal for beginners or those relatively new to pottery.

You will learn clay techniques such as coiling, slab building, moulding and glazing.

Over 6 sessions you’ll make and glaze three or four pieces to take away with you.

Working with clay can be like meditation, especially if you do it mindfully in the right environment. These group classes are kept small so that you can relax and be yourself.

Or maybe you and four friends could treat yourselves and have some fun. Enjoy an evening together of wine, music and clay. Theme it or style it as you like!

Create something special together on valentines day, impress a first date or treat a special someone on their birthday. This is a creative date night for two – or share the space with another couple.

The first session will involve making a piece of your choice which I can then fire and glaze with a clear glaze ready to be collected the following week. Otherwise, you can return for a second session where you will be offered a variety of glazes to decorate the pieces yourself. The piece will then be fired ready to collect the week after your second session.

Half terms, Easter, summer or Christmas.

We run children’s pottery classes throughout all of the holidays. Please contact me for my next available classes.
